The Club and it's members have a vast amount of memorabilia relating to both Willie and Hearts. In the first of a new section on this site we feature a League Cup Programme from August 1957 owned by our very own Chairman, Mr Wilf McLaughlan
The Programme, from the final Section Match against Dundee on 31st August 1957, features Willie in action from the previous home game, when Queen's Park left on the wrong end of a 9-2 drubbing.
Hearts went on to beat Dundee 4-2, with Willie scoring twice, with a Bobby Kirk penalty and Jimmy Wardhaugh completing the scoring.
Some of the famous names included in the Programme included Duncan's Chocolate, Dryborough's Beers, Thorntons Sports Shop and Baird's & Starks in the Bridges. A top price ticket for the Military Tattoo in 1957 would set you back 12/6 (approx 63p)
Unfortunately, due to age, the font size and print quality, it is not possible to show the full contents of the programme online. I am currently trying to scan and convert this to an Adobe Acrobat format file for downloading.
